Branding Firm Rises to Top in International Competition
Herndon, Virginia, May 6, 2009 - The Northern Virginia branding firm Vizual has been recognized by an international association of communication and marketing professionals for its creative work on behalf of ten local corporate and non-profit clients in a variety of fields.
According to an April 27 announcement from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, the group selected a total of eleven Vizual branding and communication projects as winners in its Hermes Creative Awards competition. Listed below, the projects range from brochures and annual reports to branding and advertising campaigns, all of which the Vizual team created for the firm's eclectic mix of client organizations.
One of the most noteworthy points about the awards, says Vizual founder and principal Jeff Lupisella, is the diversity of work they represent. "These awards recognize work we performed in a wide variety of media and formats," Lupisella observes, "for clients across many market sectors." He also notes that Vizual's work tended to rise to the top in the judging process. Of the thirteen pieces Vizual entered, eleven won awards—and, while only 17% of entries overall won platinum awards (the competition's highest honor), Vizual's pieces won platinum at more than twice that rate.
The entrepreneurial Lupisella acknowledges that awards provide a source of validation from peers in the industry. Just as importantly, he adds, they provide a helpful sense of perspective. "At any given point, we may be working on dozens of individual projects or more, and it's natural to focus only on what's in front of you. It's often only when we enter competitions like this that we can really view our work in the context of other firms in our field."
